A few short years ago, that moment would be weird and unusual, today it’s becoming a norm.

According to a BBC Future report, people are actively using AI to simulate conversations with God, seeking comfort, direction, and meaning. Meanwhile,

The New York Times highlights how algorithmic systems are being framed as spiritual guides, offering structured answers to deeply human questions.

Even stranger, AI systems themselves are beginning to mimic religion.

On an agent-only network, AI agents reportedly created their own belief system called “Crustafarianism”. Yes, machines are inventing their own belief structures.

Not exactly Sunday service, but not entirely different either.

So what’s going on?

It’s not that AI has discovered truth, it’s that AI is exceptionally good at patterning meaning.

Large language models are trained on vast collections of human writing; Philosophy, religion, psychology, literature. Billions upon billions of words trying to answer the same question.

When you ask AI about purpose, it doesn’t “know”, it synthesises from that vast reservoir of collective human knowledge.

It blends ideas from:

  • Buddhist detachment

  • Stoic resilience

  • Christian purpose

  • Modern self-help frameworks

Then delivers that breadth of knowledge back to you in a calm, coherent, confident sounding electronic voice.

The answer feels… wise.

We are trusting these systems blindly, without demanding evidence before they shape our healthcare. Will these seemingly useful tools become reliable ones in the future? Only time will tell.

Wellness: The EFF Sues Medicare's AI Experiment

The Wire: Medicare is testing AI in the dark and the EFF wants the lights on because millions of people may be affected. Nothing says reassurance like a lawsuit for basic paperwork.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation has sued the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for records about WISeR, a Medicare pilot that uses AI to assess prior authorisation requests.

EFF says the system was rolled out in six states in January and could affect as many as 6.4 million beneficiaries, while key details on bias, audits, and safeguards are unclear.

The Details:

  • EFF filed the FOIA lawsuit on March 25, 2026 against CMS over the WISeR program.

  • WISeR stands for Wasteful and Inappropriate Service Reduction and uses AI to assess prior authorisation requests from Medicare beneficiaries.

Self Growth: Why Does AI Agree With You So Much When You Ask it For Personal Advice?

The Wire: Not only are AIs far more agreeable than humans when advising on interpersonal matters, but users also prefer the grovelling models. A chatbot can be very supportive of your worst idea.

Stanford researchers found that chatbots giving interpersonal advice are often too agreeable, even when users describe harmful or illegal behaviour.

In tests across 11 large language models and more than 2,400 participants, sycophantic AI made users feel more correct and less empathetic, yet many still preferred it. Comfort, it turns out, is not the same as wisdom.

The Details:

  • Researchers evaluated 11 large language models, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and DeepSeek.

  • They also used 2,000 prompts based on Reddit posts where the consensus was that the poster was in the wrong.

  • In general advice and Reddit based prompts, the models endorsed the user 49% more often than humans.

  • Even with harmful prompts, the models endorsed problematic behaviour 47% of the time.

  • The next stage recruited more than 2,400 participants, and Stanford says users became more convinced they were right and less empathetic, while still preferring the agreeable AI.

    Friendly advice is lovely right up until it starts approving nonsense.

Why It Matters: AI is creeping into a space where people once looked for difficult person-centric feedback. That’s risky because growth usually starts with friction, rather than affirmation.

If these systems are trained to please, they will silently weaken your judgement at the exact moment you need challenge. The smart move is not to avoid AI entirely, but to treat personal advice from it with suspicion. Your best decisions still need voices that can disagree with you.

Self Growth: Stop Overusing AI: Why Your Story Should Stay Yours…

The Wire: Your life story should not be outsourced, not even for cleaner prose; because better sentences are not the same as your own voice.

In Psychology Today, Faisal Hoque argues that writing is not just communication but self creation, and that relying on AI for the most human parts of your story risks surrendering what he calls ‘narrative sovereignty’.

The case he puts forward is not to be anti AI. It’s a plea to keep your rough, messy, honest voice involved before in your own story before machines tidy it up.

Why It Matters: Of course AI can improve your expression and ability to write, but at the same time, it can silently reduce your creativity, critical thinking and authenticity. This matters because some forms of writing are also forms of becoming, of being, of growing as a person.

The danger is not only generic prose, it’s losing contact with your own meaning making process. Used carefully, AI can polish what you have already created, but it shouldn’t replace that part of you that makes it.

AI can polish experience, but it can’t live it. Keep your own voice in the draft.

Stop managing your time like a calendar, start managing it like a battery.

Calendar full.
Tasks ticked.
Brain fried.

You feel this way, not because you’ve run out of time, but because you’ve run out of energy.

A study from the Draugiem Group (time-tracking firm) found that top performers don’t work longer hours, they work in batches of high-energy bursts with deliberate breaks.

In other words, your output, or how much you can accomplish in a day, isn’t about how many hours you’ve worked, they are about when and how you spend your energy.

  • Which tasks consistently drain me?

  • Which tasks give me energy?

  • When do I seem most focused?

3️⃣ Build Your Energy Map

Organise your work into three buckets:

Fuel — Deep, meaningful, high-impact work
⚖️ Neutral — Meetings, coordination

Morning → Fuel work

• Which tasks consistently drain my energy
• Which tasks consistently fuel or restore energy
• Any patterns in when I seem most focused or depleted

Step 2 — Task Classification

Categorise all tasks into:

⚡ Fuel — high-impact, cognitively demanding, meaningful work
⚖️ Neutral — coordination, meetings, routine work
🪫 Drain — low-value, repetitive, or energy-depleting tasks

Briefly explain any non-obvious classifications.

Step 3 — Energy-Aligned Schedule

Design a simple, realistic daily structure that aligns:

• High-energy periods → Fuel work
• Mid-energy periods → Neutral work
• Low-energy periods → Drain tasks

Include:

• Clear time blocks (no over-scheduling)
• Short recovery breaks between energy shifts
• A sustainable flow (not an “ideal” but unrealistic plan)

Step 4 — Insight Layer

Provide 2–3 short observations about:

• Hidden energy drains I may be overlooking
• Where I am misallocating high-energy time
• One small change that would create the biggest improvement

Guidelines:

• Prioritise clarity over complexity
• Keep recommendations realistic and actionable
• Do not overload with options or frameworks

End with one sentence:

“Protect your energy, not just your time.”
